DIEFENDERFER, Rita Ann Wilson, of Tampa, Florida, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021. Born April 9, 1945 in Tampa, Florida, she was predeceased by her husband Alexander "Keith" Shindle, her mother and step-father Dorothy and Benni Bell, father and step-mother Art and Betty Wilson and sisters Susie Bell, and Barbara Zsuffa. She is survived by her children James (Claudia) Diefenderfer and Mark (Joelle) Diefenderfer, brothers Art (Sheri) Wilson, Jr., Charles Wilson, Dean (Jan) Bell and David Bell and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was a dedicated public servant and spent her career assisting others as an investigator and social worker for the State of Florida.
She had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel, especially in the American West, to visit her son and daughter-in-law, James and Claudia. She loved animals, books, movies and music. She was a gifted writer and enjoyed creative writing.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Blount and Curry Funeral Home, West Hillsborough Chapter, 6802 Silvermill Drive, Tampa.
