Robert Stephen Jost

A devoted husband, father,grandfather and respected veteran, Bob's legacy is one of love, faith, dedication and honor. Bob was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was the son of Austrian immigrants. After graduating from high school he was drafted into the Army where he served in Europe during World War II earning numerous medals for his heroic and meritorious service. Not long after returning from the war, he married the love of his life, Esther on October 26, 1946. Eventually they migrated together to Miami, Florida where they lived for over 40 years raising their daughter, Kim. After retirement, they moved together to Tampa, Florida to be near Kim and her family.

Bob leaves behind a family who cherished him deeply: his daughter, Kim Perez, son-in-law Jorge Perez and their children, Alexandra, Lauren, Lindsey and Alison Perez. Bob was predeceased by his wife, Esther, his parents, Louis and Teresa and his siblings Louis, Annie, Eddie and Ruth.

Bob was a faithful servant to our Lord, loved spending time with family and friends, enjoyed all spectator sports but his favorites were football and hockey, enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles in his later years and dedicated himself to his wife, daughter and grandchildren with a passion that is rarely seen.

A visitation for Robert will be held Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Blount & Curry Life Event Center, 605 S MACDILL AVE, TAMPA, FL 33609 with a rosary servicing beginning at 6:15pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday, March 1, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Christ the King Catholic Church, 821 S Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL 33629. A committal service with military honors will occur Friday, March 1, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Sunset Memory Gardens, 11005 N US 301, Thonotosassa, FL 33592.
