Roberto "Rob" Antonio Acevedo Santana

Rob is survived by his devoted fiancée Bonny Davidson, who was the love of his life, and daughter Kaitlynn; his parents: Aida Santana and Roberto Acevedo; siblings: Barbie, Jose and Cindy, as well as his nephews: Rio, Oasis, Nilo, Tristan, Jared, Joshua and a niece, Olivia. His extended family members who live in Florida, Puerto Rico and other states also grieve his loss.

He was born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, the first son in the family and grew up in Miami, Florida. From a young age he loved cars, specially the General Lee from the Dukes of Hazzard. As a teen he found he was good at fixing things and later enjoyed a career as a certified mechanic. He left a multitude of car projects and spare parts because he loved fixing cars and motorcycles. He was an avid race car fan, Monster Truck Jams and off-road mud races. His two dogs, which he cleverly named Chaos and Mayhem, were his faithful companions. He was always there ready to help people and had friends throughout South and Central Florida who will miss him. He was a member of FUEL Community Church in Lakeland, FL where he found Jesus as his Lord and savior.

We are tremendously thankful to the ICU doctors, nurses and staff at Tampa General Hospital who provided top notch, skilled medical care to Rob during his surgery and round the clock nursing with respiratory support and rehab during his extended time at the hospital.

We are also thankful to DaVita and his doctors from Lakeland, FL for his dialysis care; and to the National Foundation for Transplants which helped Rob with transplant information.

We are also grateful for the compassion extended to our family while dealing with funeral arrangements by Gonzalez Funeral Home of Tampa, FL.

His family will gather for a final goodbye at his inurnment at Woodland Memorial Park in Gotha, FL where he will be laid to rest next to his beloved Abuelos: Naty and Roberto Acevedo. A mass in his name will take place at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Naples, FL. Friends will also gather at a Celebration of Life in Lakeland, FL.
