Roy Joe McAfee

Born on 5/16/1944 in Dublin, GA, Roy later made Port Tampa his home where he lived and became a steady, familiar presence to everyone who knew him.

Roy proudly served his country in the US Air Force (MSGT) before later serving his community with the United States Postal Service. He was a hardworking, devoted man whose life was defined not only by his dedication to his work, but by the love he gave so freely to his Family.

Above all else, Roy loved his Family. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 60 years, Florence “Lynn” McAfee, whose devotion to him never wavered. Together they built a Family that will continue to carry his memory forward every single day.

He is also survived by his Children: Lisa Yeager (Craig), Kimberly Caceres (Juan) and Todd McAfee ; his 6 Grandchildren, 8 Great-Grand Children and 2 Great Great Grand Children. His Sister, Virginia Harris (Macon, GA), Hugh McAfee (Atlanta, GA) and June Fisher (Bubba) (Macon, GA). Along with his Buddy his chocolate Lab – Awgee the Doggie.

Roy leaves behind a Family forever shaped by his love, strength, humor and presence. Though hearts are broken in his absence, the stories, laughter and memories he gave will live on for generations.

IF LOVE ALONE COULD HAVE KEPT HIM HERE, HE WOULD HAVE LIVED FOREVER.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Blount & Curry Life Event Center, 605 S MacDill Ave, Tampa, FL 33609, US, on June 20, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
