Stanley R. Bunn Sr., 86, passed peacefully on October 22, 2014 surrounded by family. Stan was born September 5, 1928 in Kingsport TN. Born into the Great Depression, Stan graduated from East Tennessee State University as a Chemistry Major with a Bachelors in Science in 1951. From there, he entered the Air Force where he served his country for numerous years as a munitions instructor. Post the service, he joined Charles Pfizer & Company (now Pfizer Pharmaceuticals) as 1 of the first 100 Pharmaceutical representatives where he worked in numerous operational roles for 25 years. After his long tenure at Pfizer, he pursued his entrepreneur sprit and went out on his own to start Crest Pharmaceuticals Inc. where he developed a number of successful products. From there, he expanded his product line to include medications for animals. After a long and prosperous run in the Pharmaceutical industry, he and his Wife (Kitty) changed careers, and entered into Real Estate. In 1970, he procured his first 26 unit office building at the three point intersection of Henderson, Himes and Swann, known as the Crest Business Center where he provided numerous opportunities for young entrepreneurs looking to get their first start in business. Over the course of the next 30 years, Stan bought and sold numerous commercial and residential buildings throughout the Tampa Bay area. By 1977, his hard work was recognized by the Tampa Bay Board of Realtors where he received the coveted Realtor of the Year award. That same year, he was also recognized as the Real Estate Educator of the Year. Stan continued this path of excellence until his retirement in 2005. Survivors include his Wife of 64 years, Kitty Wykle Bunn; his Sister, Helen Bunn of Kingsport TN; his immediate family including Jeff Bunn (Marguerite); Corby Bunn; Teresa Bunn; and Stan Bunn II (Deidre) all of Tampa. In addition to his four children, he leaves behind his beloved seven grandchildren including James Bunn, Ashley Bunn, Amanda Bunn, William Bunn, Hayden Bunn, Reese Bunn and Lynde Bunn. For all of Stan’s accomplishments, by far, his biggest was his Family for which he dearly loved and cherished. Stan will be remembered by all for his big heart, zest for life and his willingness to always lend a helping hand in those of need. A celebration of Stan’s life will be held at 11:00AM, Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at 605 S MacDill Ave in Tampa.
