
She furthered her education at Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York, graduating with a BA in English. Susan returned to Tampa after graduation and devoted many years to
volunteering for the Junior League of Tampa. She worked on a variety of committees and served as the President of the Junior League. Susan then embarked on a career as Program Director for WBVM radio. Following her years at the radio station, Susan worked at St. Peter Claver Catholic School for 10 years, serving first as the school librarian and then as a religion teacher.
Susan was predeceased by her parents Bob and Suzanne Thomas. She is survived by her siblings, Anne L. Thomas, Robert M. Thomas, and Christina T. Sievers, her brother in law Mark Sievers, her sister in law Ashley Thomas, her nephew Wayne Thomas, her nephew William Sievers, his wife Sarah Sievers, their children Smith Sievers and Oscar Sievers, and her niece Suzanne Sievers and her husband Thomas Miers. Susan is also survived by her cherished goddaughter Cierra Watley, and her children Laila, Samara, Xavier, Arianna, and Asia. Susan also leaves behind a larger family of friends and devoted caregivers. Her family wishes to express their gratitude to her nurses, the office staff at Care Team Home Healthcare, and her physicians Carolyn Connelly and Denise Edwards for the excellent care and kindness they provided to Susan.
A lifelong Catholic, Susan devoted her life to others. At her request, her funeral services and burial will be private.
