Wayne Oneill DeMarco Sr.

Wayne Oneill DeMarco, Sr., 81 years old, passed peacefully into eternal life on July 17, 2021, in Tampa, Florida. Wayne was born and raised in south New Jersey, graduated from Collingswood High School in 1959, and served in the United States Air Force for four years in Turkey and North Africa. Wayne married his high school sweetheart, Barbara, in 1964, had three children and moved to Spring Hill, Florida, in 1974, where he was an electrical contractor (DeMarco & Son). While in Spring Hill, he was a founding member of the West Hernando Little League, coached youth baseball and softball, was a member at St. Theresa Catholic Church and then later at St. Frances Catholic Church. Wayne and Barbara moved to Temple Terrace in 2005 to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Wayne worked at the Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club and the Woodmont Clubhouse in Temple Terrace and was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Joseph DeMarco, Sr., and Genevieve (Ervolini) DeMarco; his mother and father-in-law, George Moser and Estella (Forsythe) Moser; and his nephew, Joseph DeMarco III. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara (Moser) DeMarco of Temple Terrace, FL; his children, Debra Richards (Steve) of Tampa, FL, Wayne DeMarco, Jr. (Jevne) of Seffner, FL, and Daniel DeMarco (Jessica) of North Bethesda, MD; his grandchildren Steven Richards, Jr., Michael Richards, and Nicolas DeMarco; and his brother, Joseph DeMarco, Jr. (Dianne) of Audubon, NJ. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the James A. Haley Veteran’s Hospital in Tampa, FL, for the incredible care and respect during Wayne’s long battle with cancer and his last few days in their hospice, as well as all of the family and friends for their prayers and support over the last few years.

A memorial gathering will take place on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at 2PM at Corpus Christi Catholic. A funeral mass will then be celebrated at 3PM at the church. All are invited to a reception in the Parish Center following the Mass.

Wayne will be laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL, on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at 11:00 am.
