It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of William “Bill” Dionisio, lovingly known as Big Bad Billy D from the Bronx, who peacefully passed away on April 20, 2025, in Tampa, Florida, at the age of 74. Born in the Bronx, New York, Bill was the ninth of ten children. He later moved to Parsippany, New Jersey where he spent 35 years working at the Star-Ledger newspaper before moving to Tampa, Florida in 2019.
Bill earned a degree in Education from Saint Peter’s College in Jersey City, New Jersey. He was a quiet soul with a playful spirit, always ready with a joke, a silly face, or a classic “hey yo!” to make someone smile. He was deeply devoted to his family —the loving father of Steven (and his wife Gladys), Michael (and his wife Lia), and Tiana (and her husband Dan), and the proud grandfather of Mason, who brought endless joy to his heart.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Tina; his parents, Anthony and Beatrice Dionisio; and his siblings Semira, Jack, and Joseph. He is survived by his cherished siblings: Beatrice, Marian, Anthony, Theresa, Alice, and Bernadette — a family full of love, laughter, and stories.
Bill will be remembered for his kindness, his goofy side, his loyalty, and the deep love he shared with those lucky enough to know him. Heaven just got a little more fun. “We bad!”
