Allen “Skeeter” was truly one who could light up a gymnasium with his smile.  I doubt if Skeet ever met a stranger, and if he did that individual was a stranger for maybe 30-seconds at the most.  I was shocked to learn of Skeeter’s passing four years ago.  So many fond memories of a great friend, man, husband and father.  We all loved you, and will definitely never forget you or the footprint you made on our life!

Just wanted to let you know how sorry I was to hear of Skeet's passing. I can truly say he was one of the most enjoyable people I have ever had the pleasure to be around. Every time I saw him headed my way out at the baseball field or over at the gym at Temple College I knew there was going to be a remark (or several remarks) for us to laugh about. His dry sense of humor and good natured ribbing were always welcome. He took great care of us over in the athletic department and even though he loved to complain about all of our requests, he seemed to always come through and get us the things we needed. I really missed seeing him after he retired, but I'm thankful for the memories I have of him and the laughs we shared during his time here at TC. My thoughts have been with you, his family, over the past week and my prayer is that God will give you comfort as you continue on.

 Sheet and I had some very good times in high school. Before going to Air Force  C5 flight school, I rode along with him when he was trucking and enjoyed  it very much. We got together when we both were stationed in Ok and had a great time and even stayed out of trouble. I will miss  Skeet very much and wish I could have seen him again. 

What I remember most about Skeet was when he worked for Don Malcom and I'd go out to the airport with Julie and Angie. Skeet made everything fun. My heart goes out to your family in his passing.

It is with shock to read of your loving husband, father and grandfather’s passing.  It has been a fairly long time since I talked with Skeeter face-to-face, but grew up with him in Mankato.  Worked with him several summers relocating Interstate signage along I-70 & 35, and what fun times we had.  Once tried to lift my end of a large sign I-beam because Skeet made it look so easy, and realized he possessed not more than about twice my strength.  Skeeter always had a smile on his face and would step in to help even without asking.  He was a classmate of my wife, Kathie graduating in 1968 from MHS.  His sister, Pat was in my class and I played sports and worked for brother, Jim after returning from Vietnam during the summers and fall breaks from college.  Jan , Skeet was a loving, caring person and to his sons, daughters and grandchildren I know you will miss this big wonderful guy.  Believe me when I say I never knew anyone who ever uttered an unkind word about him.  I know once the sadness and tears slowly begin to ease giving way to a smile here and there then followed by laughter will when you recall the hundreds of great memories you all shared with Skeet.  I know that is what Husband, Dad and Grandpa Would want.  Skeet or more formally, Skeeter thank you for being a part of The Tyrell’s life.  We loved all of times we got to spend together.

So sorry to hear about Skeet; I have such fond memories of working with him for many years at Temple College. I could always ask him what I needed to - and we always laughed because he was honest, but did not always tell me what I wanted to hear.

However, I felt comfortable relying on him and trusting his judgement. When I saw him on campus we shared  pleasant words and smiles. Skeet was a good man and I am sure he will be missed; good bye my friend.

I never knew his name, but Mr. Powell bought propane from me, we would always have great conversations, mostly about his grandkids sporting events. He was a very kind man & always had a smile to share! My deepest condolences to his family. Rest in eternal peace my friend.
