Anita Lawson

Anita Lawson, age 82 of Temple, died Monday, May 26, 2014 at a McGregor care center. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, May 30, 2014 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors from 5-7:00 PM Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the funeral home. Mrs. Lawson was born on March 28, 1932 in Temple, Texas to Ted and Sepha Hargrove Lawhorn. She attended schools in Rogers, Texas and graduated from Rogers High School in 1949. Anita married William Lawson in February 1965 and he preceded her in death on May 7, 1997. She retired from the Soil Conservation Service in Temple after 18 years of service. Anita enjoyed cooking for her family and loved travelling. She was a member of Northside Church of Christ in Temple. Anita was preceded in death by her father, Ted Lawhorn, a brother, Donald Lawhorn and a step daughter, Nancy Fuller. Anita is survived by her mother, Sepha H. Lawhorn of McGregor; a daughter, Karen Knight and husband Hal of Moody; a step daughter, Kathy Lawson of Washington; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
