Funeral services for Betty Jo Lester, 86, of Temple will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at Western Hills Church of Christ with Scott Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park. Mrs. Lester died Sunday at her residence. Mrs. Lester was born May 11, 1928, in Amarillo to Julius Martin and Mary Melna Winn Martin. She graduated from Amarillo High School. She married Edward Lester April 15, 1950, in Clovis, New Mexico. She moved to Temple in 1969. She was a member of Western Hills Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and worked as a Pre School Teacher at Young World Kindergarten for over twenty years. Survivors include her husband Edward Lester of Temple; one son Edward G. Lester, Jr. of Pflugerville; two daughters Dawn Ramsay and April W. Waid both of Temple; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
