
Beulah Mae (Barker) Berry, age 94 of Temple, passed away October 13, 2015 in Temple. Services will be held at 10:00am Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive visitors prior to the service from 9-9:45am Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. Beulah was born on November 2, 1920 in Kent County, Texas to the late William Allen Barker and Tempie Selenia Sherrod Barker. During her youth, she lived in Oklahoma and Arkansas where she completed a 10th grade education while working in the cotton fields. Beulah's father was a pastor, traveling salesman and farmer. Her mother was the rock of the family, raising ten children, three sons and seven daughters, before they settled in Temple, Texas. Beulah spent all of her adult life in Temple, marrying Cecil Berry on July 1, 1954 in Falls County. She had one daughter, Veronica Ruth, who died at birth but several nieces and nephews that she helped to raise throughout the years. She and Cecil loved to fish and take long rides through the countryside. Her favorite place to be was on the banks of any river with a fishing pole in her hand. Beulah was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil in 1997; an infant daughter, Veronica Ruth; and all nine of her brothers and sisters. Survivors include a nephew, Larry Tumlinson and wife Irene of San Angelo; a niece, Clydette Jones and husband Bill of Temple; grandnephews, David Smithhart and wife Suzanne of Temple and Jason Entzminger and wife Sarah of San Angelo; and grandniece, Ginger Davis and husband Tommy of Belton. Memorials may be given in Beulah's name to Gentiva Hospice, 2626-B S. 37th Street, Temple, Texas 76504.
