Billie Jean Stephens, age 91 of Temple, died Saturday, April 14, 2018 at a local care center. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Bellwood Memorial Park with Barry Harper officiating. The family will receive visitors from 5-7:00pm Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mrs. Stephens was born on June 1, 1926 in Prairie Dell, Texas to the late J.H. Killingsworth and Allie Tisdale Killingsworth. At the age of 6, she moved to Temple and lived with her uncle and aunt, Sam and Vertna Street. She attended Temple schools and graduated from Temple High School in 1943. She was a member of Western Hills Church of Christ. Billie Jean married John Roy Stephens in 1945 and he preceded her in death in 1982. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter in 1956. Survivors include two sons, Todd Stephens and wife Becky of Magnolia and Tim Stephens and wife Beverly of Belton; four grandchildren, Sam and Holly Stephens of Magnolia, Kayla Muszynski and husband Jeff of Belton, and Scott Stephens and wife Jenna of Belton; and one great grandchild, Greyson Allen Muszynski.
