Bishop Franklin Setzer, age 66 of Temple, died Saturday, March 15, 2014 in Brewster County. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 19, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mr. Setzer was born August 1, 1947 in Lenoir, North Carolina to Everett and Aliene Gribble Setzer. At a young age his family moved to Temple where he attended school until he joined the U. S. Navy serving in Vietnam. After which, he returned to Temple where he owned several local businesses before going to work for Shallow Ford Construction. After retirement, he spent most of his time by the Texas coast. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Fonda Kay Barron. Survivors include his son, Landy Setzer of Troy and his daughter, Andice Setzer of New Orleans and three grandchildren.
