

Blanche T. Bearor, age 86, of Temple passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at her home. She was born on April 21, 1931 in Eagle Pass, Texas the daughter of Jeff and Maude Thompson. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home 3110 Airport Rd. Temple, Texas 76504. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 9:30 Am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas. Blanche was a charter member of Canyon Creek Baptist Church where she was a choir member and part of the Senior Ministry. She was a volunteer with CTLC, member and very active in the Ladies Auxiliary for San Antonio Fire Department, serving several positions including president. Was a member of the Temple Fire Department Woman’s Auxiliary, was an avid supporter of her husband while he was the Temple Fire Chief. Blanche was particularly blessed and proud to be one of the “Angels of Ashes”. This group ministered to victims of house fires, helping them obtain household items and clothing to meet their needs. And she loved having her great grandsons come over and just be boys. Blanche is survived by her children; Ret. Colonel Jeff Bearor and wife Marcia of Woodbridge, VA, Marshall Bearor and wife Lisa of Rowlett, TX, and Marcine Chambers of Temple, TX, grandchildren; Leigh Conant and husband Lieutenant Colonel Kevin Conant of Occoquan, VA, Kelley Russell and husband Phillip of Hope, AR, Erin Power and husband Lynn of Fouke, AR, David Clounts and wife Leslie of Rowlett, TX, Lauren Kryfko and husband Nick of Fate, TX, Shawn Smith of Temple, and Evah Chambers of Belton, great-grandchildren; Jacob, Lakin, Dalton, Jack, Brooklyn, Jacy, Dillon, Bear, Caleb, Caden, and Carter, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Wallace A. Bearor, parents Jeff and Maude Thompson, a brother Harold Thompson, and a sister Dorothy Long. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the following caregivers who took care of Blanche, treated her like their own and allowed her to stay in her home until the end: Freddie Mae McGee and Kandice Colburn – her primary caregivers, friends and family, Tony Jeter and Tender Mercies – especially Kayla and Vallary, and Kindred Hospice – Patti Myers, RN, Chaplains Bruce Mercer and Gary Baxley, nurses and aids who helped keep her comfortable.
