Charles (Buddy) H. Lewis

Funeral services for Charles H. (Buddy) Lewis, 81, of Oenaville will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday at Western Hills Church of Christ with Scott Meyer officiating.  Burial will be in Oenaville Cemetery. Mr. Lewis died Wednesday at his residence. Mr. Lewis was born February 9, 1937 in Oenaville to Carl Lewis and Jane Ewing Lewis.  He graduated from Temple High School in 1955, where he played basketball.  He graduated from Temple Junior College in 1957 where he also played basketball.  He married Patricia Faulkner June 1, 1957.  They recently celebrated sixty years of marriage.  Buddy was a lifelong dedicated farmer.  The only thing he loved more than planting and harvesting was his family.  He was an avid sports enthusiast and thoroughly enjoyed traveling through the years to watch his kids and grandkids participate and play in a multitude of activities.  He served in the Texas National Guard for nine years.  He was secretary of O & B Watershed for forty five years and was recently honored for that tenure.  He was Past President of the Bell County Farm Bureau and served as President of the Troy School Board for twelve years. Buddy was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Bob Lewis and one son Gregory Lewis. Survivors include his wife Patricia Faulkner Lewis of Oenaville; three daughters Debbie Mouser and her husband Keith of Little River-Academy, Amy Lewis of Oenaville, Stacy Bender and her husband Lee of Abernathy; six grandchildren Kaylee Lewis, Heather Yung, Dalton Lewis, Trae Bender, Seth Bender and Clara Bender and one great grandchild Izabella Yung; one brother David Lewis; one sister Janey Heath. In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to Troy High School FFA or to Troy Athletic Booster Club P.O. Box 409 Troy, Texas 76579.    Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. 4:00 P.M. Sunday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
