

Charles L. Stout, age 73 went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 in a local hospital. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 1, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Dr. Ronnie Marriott officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. Mr. Stout was born in Ironton, MO on December 29, 1940 to Earl and Gladys Middleton Stout. Charles graduated from Baylor University with a BS and MS. He married Carol King on September 1, 1961 in Independence, MO and they moved to Temple in 1964. He was a biology teacher at Temple College and then went on to be a Registrar and Dean of Continuing Education. He was with Temple College until he retired in 2000 with 37 years of service. He was an active member of First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, bible teacher and choir member. He was very involved in Temple Founder Lions Club and served as current Secretary. He held numerous officer positions during his many years of service including President and District Governor. He and his wife enjoyed traveling extensively with the Lions. He was also a member of numerous Boards including the Temple Park Board for many years. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Carol Stout of Temple, two children, Lori Stout of Dallas and Dr. Tracey Stout and his wife, Kristy of Bluefield, VA. He is also survived by six grandchildren who he loved dearly, Riley and Ketcher of Dallas and Alexandra, Ethan, Aiden and Elias of Bluefield and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Texas Lions Camp, P. O.
