Graveside Memorial services for Charles D. Singleton, 79, of Leander, will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday November 20, 2009 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, with military honors. Mr. Singleton died Monday in a Temple hospital. Mr. Singleton was born February 12, 1930, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Delbert Singleton and Tina Grimes Singleton. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Jannette Chapman in 1965. He worked as a logger. He moved to Leander twelve years ago and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Cedar Park. Survivors include his wife Jannette Singleton of Leander; one son Robert Singleton of Oregon; two stepdaughters Lannette Sharp of Dallas and Patricia Wier of Leander; one sister Druzena Pounds of Spokane, Washington and nine grandchildren Christine Koch of Austin, Nathan Sharp of Dallas, Kyle Sharp of Colorado, B.J. Wier of Austin, Tony Wier of Austin and Scotty Wier of Austin, Cameron Singleton of Oregon, McKenzie Singleton of Oregon and Keltyn Singleton of Oregon. Scanio Harper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
