Cliff is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Cindy Zirkelbach Posey, whom he met at a camera store when she was 19 years old. Cindy secretly told her co-worker that she would marry him after seeing him for the first time. Together, they built a loving family, including their children, Sarah Elizabeth Easterwood and Andrew Thomas Posey, son-in-law Allen Easterwood, daughter-in-law Rachael Posey, and five grandchildren who brought him immeasurable joy: Elle Elizabeth Easterwood, Everett Rolf Easterwood, Aria Drew Posey, Aiden Conrad Posey, and Elliott James Easterwood. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Lee Posey, his parents, and his grandparents: Erich Wilham Dolgener, Anna Barbara Brandenger, Eric McNab Posey, and Laura Belle Preston.
Cliff served his country as part of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal among other honors. His service was a source of great pride, and he carried that sense of duty into all aspects of his life.
A skilled drafter, Cliff worked for the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service, where he earned the respect of his colleagues for his expertise and dedication. Outside of work, he had numerous passions. He loved sports, especially football, basketball, NASCAR, and golf. He once made a hole-in-one, a moment he was incredibly proud of. Cliff was an avid nature lover with a special interest in birding, bees, and photography. He was also fond of classic cars, particularly '57 Chevys, and had a deep appreciation for good music, including The Grateful Dead, Cream, and Bob Dylan. He especially enjoyed traveling to National Parks with his childhood friend, Andrew Sturgess.
Those who knew Cliff best recognized his love for lively discussions, particularly about politics. He enjoyed engaging with others, and his presence always sparked thoughtful debate. But above all, he was known for his generosity, his willingness to help anyone in need, and his unshakable love for his family. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of his family and friends, but his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched. As a father, husband, and friend, Cliff will be remembered as a man who always put others first and lived life with deep conviction and care.
