Debbie Malone

Debbie was born on August 3, 1963, in Cameron, Texas, the daughter of Walter Side Arnold, Jr. and Mildred Flora (Taylor) Arnold. She was a 1981 graduate of Rogers High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

Debbie devoted her professional life to educating and mentoring teachers and teaching students, spending over 24 years with Temple ISD before retiring in 2021. Her impact extended beyond the classroom into her community and church. A faithful and active member of Western Hills Church of Christ, Debbie taught Sunday School on Tuesdays and Thursdays and was a dedicated Vacation Bible School teacher both at Western Hills Church of Christ and at Buckholts Baptist Church.

Debbie is survived by her husband Randy Malone of Temple whom she married on June 4, 1983 in Rogers, Texas. She is also survived by her son, Joshua Lee Malone of Temple; her daughter, Christin Malone and husband Moe Bennet of Temple; her brother, Craig Arnold and wife Linda of Cameron; and her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Donna Helbert of Temple, Cindy Bailey of Little River-Academy, and Nelline Weems and husband Danny of Temple. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Eddie Bruce Arnold; and her brother-in-law, Eddy Helbert.

Debbie's legacy lives on through the many lives she touched as a teacher, mentor, and friend.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple. Funeral services will take place at the funeral home on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, former students, and all who knew and loved her.
