

Delores was proud of her Norwegian heritage. In her younger years, she was a gymnast and won medals for parallel bars and high jump. She also loved to play volleyball and bowling. In 1952, she was named Miss Citizen in Parkridge, IL.
She married John Peter Rosen on March 20, 1954. They were blessed with seven children, Jonathan Paul Rozsa, Betty Ruth “Sissy” Brown, Robert Matthew Rosen, Tracey Lee Rosen, Steven Theodore Rosen, Carla Mari-Ann Neal and Erik Skrapekake Rosen.
The Rosen home was the headquarters for the neighborhood kids for a lot of years, she said “I grew up with my kids and I had a great time”. Also she was a Cub Scout den mother for 15 years, a cheerleading coach, and an avid Cubs fan, who would sneak into the games as a child at Wrigley Field. In the fall, she would be cheering on her Chicago Bears.
Delores moved to Texas in 1977 with her husband’s career as an executive and part owner of Materials Transportation Co. – MTC in Temple. Her career started with working at First National Bank in Temple, administrative assistant to the Temple High School Fine Arts Department. She then worked at the Cultural Activities Center, from event coordinator to interim director. Delores also worked at the Temple Civic Theater as Executive Director, and at Foundation United Methodist Church as the administrative assistant to the pastor.
In her retirement years, Delores opened “The Cotton Exchange” Antique Shop and became an ordained minister. Some of her achievements include past president of the Miller Springs Alliance and member of the board of directors of Texas Arts and Education. She became very active with J.A.I.L. Ministry and Kairos Prison Ministry and she volunteered at McLanes Children’s Hospital Gift shop. Delores believed “The more you give of yourself, the more you reach out, the more you get back, you see more of Christ…”.
Delores was a loving Grandma to Jonathan, Justin, Bhali, Lotus and Varun Rozsa, Matthew Brown and Tracey (Brown) Fallis, Lee Curry and Zachary Rosen, Steven Rosen, Shelby (Neal) Asch and Jacob Neal, and 7 great grandkids that called her “Gigi”. Delores was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Greta Leneski; her beloved husband, John Rosen; and a daughter, Tracey Lee Rosen. She is survived by her children, many nieces and nephews and her dogs, PeeWee and Sara.
