Derald Harris

Derald Harris, 67, of Temple died Friday September 4, 2009 in a local hospital. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday September 10, 2009 at Temple Bible Church with Scott Harris officiating. Burial will be private. Mr. Harris was born October 14, 1941 in Ramsey, Illinois to Dallas and Doris Folden Harris. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army. He worked in real estate sales and the Ministry. Derald's greatest accomplishment was to give Witness to the reality of God the Father and Jesus Christ His Son in all phases of his life. In his family of "7" children and "8" grandchildren. In his work of management, real estate sales , and evangelistic travels, and in his relaxations of landscaping, boating, fishing, hunting, camping, and singing. He shall be missed by many but many shall remember and benefit from his witness. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tracy; his parents; brother, Bryce; and a sister, Darlene. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Leek Harris of Temple; four sons, Scott Harris and wife Lori of Rocky Mt., NC, Joshua Harris of Temple, Jonathan Harris of Temple, and Efrem Harris of Colorado Springs, CO; two daughters, Faith Mackay and husband Izzy and Joni Harris both of Temple; one brother, Duane Harris and wife Patricia of Temple; one sister, Dody Brown and husband Ledon of Shelbyville, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Tony, Alisia, Kadra, Cory, Mark, Jordon, Wesley, and Isaiah.
