

Services for Dolores Berry, 61, of Temple will be held at 4:30 PM Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Temple First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Randy Larpenteur officiating. Burial will follow at Temple Garden of Memories. Mrs. Berry died Sunday, September 26, 2010 in Royse City, Texas. Dolores was born on July 11, 1949 in Temple, Texas to Floyd and Dolly Houston Hawkins. She attended schools in Temple and graduated from Temple High School in 1967. Dolores married Ronald Berry on August 15, 1970 in Temple. She was a minister's wife for 25 years for the Church of the Nazarene serving in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. Dolores was a teacher for 22 years in Louisiana and Texas and had taught Pre-K the last 6 years at Pershing Park Elementary in Killeen. She was a seamstress for many years and was a church pianist and organist. Dolores was in charge of the visitor's dinner ministry at Temple First Church of the Nazarene and was head of the concession stand for the basketball organization Upward for 6 years. Mrs. Berry was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Hawkins and by a brother, Albert Hawkins. Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Ronald W. Berry of Temple; her mother, Dolly Hawkins of Belton; 3 daughters, Tammy Salter and husband Brantley of Baton Rouge, LA, Lori Allembaugh and husband Danny of Royse City, TX and Rebekah Crawford and husband Nick of Gadsden, AL; 2 sons, Ronnie Berry and wife Rachael of Huntington, WV and Chris Berry of Temple; 2 sisters, Beth Wickwire and husband Jerry of Temple and Marjean Farmer and husband Rick of Bethany, OK; 1 brother, Lloyd Hawkins and wife Carmen of Temple; 4 grandchildren, Haylee Salter, Kyle Allembaugh, Jamie Allembaugh and Makayla Allembaugh; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors from 6-8:00 PM Wednesday, September 30, 2010 at Scanio Harper Funeral Home. Memorials may be given in Mrs. Berry's name to the American Cancer Society.
