Funeral services for Donato “Dan” Cipriani, Jr., 97, of Temple will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday November 28, 2023 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Scott Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Cipriani died Friday in a Belton Living Center.
Mr. Cipriani was born Dec. 24, 1925 in Newburgh, New York to Donato Cipriani Sr. and Connie Marchione Cipriani. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He graduated from Oklahoma University. He married Peggy J. Burch May 4, 1949. She preceded him in death December 21, 2021.
He worked for Phillips Petroleum as a Petroleum Geologist. He lived in Wichita Falls, Midland and Houston before moving to Temple in 1985. He was a member of U.S. Geological Society and Ardmore Geological Society, where he had served as President. He served as a deacon at Golf Course Road Church of Christ in Midland and was currently a member of Western Hills Church of Christ.
Mr. Cipriani was also preceded in death a daughter Linda Cipriani in 1962.
Survivors include three sons Don Cipriani and wife Nina of Abingdon, Virginia, Dr. Glen Cipriani and his wife Cheryl of Harker Heights and Erin Cipriani and his wife Vilma of Ruidoso, New Mexico; one brother Joseph Cipriani of California and one sister Vera Bowman of California; seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Cherokee Children’s Home or to the Love of Christ Food Bank of Temple.
