
Dora Dean Rudd, age 89, of Temple died Friday, January 4, 2008 in a local nursing home. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, January 11, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Broadway officiating. Burial will be in San Jacinto Memorial Park near Houston. Mrs. Rudd was born May 29, 1918 to Rollen Lee and Delta Loveless Fraize in Manor, Texas. She graduated from Manor High School and attended May-Fair Taylor Business College in Austin. Her family moved to Goose Creek, Texas (now Baytown) in 1937. She retired from Esso Research and Engineering Company as Office Assistant in the purchasing department completing 30 years of service. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Georgetown and Athens, Texas then transferred to Vashti Chapter #32 in Temple and is an endowed member of Belton Chapter #589. She is also a 53 year member of Rebekah Assembly of Texas, Tejas Extension Club and Memorial Baptist Church. She married H. Andrew Sullivan on October 5, 1957 and he died November 18, 1958 due to a car wreck. She then married Henry Lewis Rudd, Sr. on May 16, 1969 and he preceded her in death on October 20, 1991 in Temple. She was also preceded in death by one infant, and her only brother, Rev. Francis Lee Fraize, a minister to the deaf in California. Survivors include three nephews and their wives, Gary Lee and Donna Fraize of Saugus, California, Larry Wayne and Debbie Fraize of Kingsland, Texas, Jerry Allan and Susan Fraize of California and one niece and her husband, Frances Renee and Randy Berlund of Newhall, California. Also surviving are four great nephews, two great nieces and their husbands, two great-great nieces and one stepson, H. L. Rudd, Jr. of Seattle, Washington. Memorials may be made to Memorial Baptist Church in Temple or to one's charity of choice.
