

Dorothy Tims Jecmenek, 74, of Temple died of a lengthy illness, on Tuesday, February 14th at home surrounded by her loved ones.Dorothy was born in Belton, TX to George Robert Tims and Alvina Katherine Beimer Tims on August 2, 1948.
A memorial visitation will take place on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home 3110 Airport Rd., Temple, Texas 76504.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 1:00pm at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
She attended school and church in Temple and Rogers and lived in the area all of her life. She married Jerry D Jecmenek on August 8, 1964. She received her GED in 1974 in Belton and attended art classes at TJC. She owned and operated Tims Bakery in Temple with her parents and was then employed at McLane's, Texas Instruments and retired from Kings Daughters Clinic. She loved everything about life, family, friends. There was always lots of laughter. Baking was her passion, the kitchen was her happy place. She loved artwork and crafting. Her 3 cats, 4 racoons, 4 foxes and an occasional possum kept her entertained when they came by daily. She loved bingo and her trips to the casinos.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years JD, their children Tammy Tucker and husband Michael of Rogers, Susan Jecmenek of Pettibone, Jerry Jecmenek Jr and wife Melissa of Houston and John Jecmenek and wife Misti of Rogers. Sisters Anna Stone of Temple and Betty Broome and husband Clois of Temple. She leaves 9 grandchildren, Gina Williams, Chris Tucker, Jamie Tucker, Jeffery Kuhn, Jessica Jecmenek, Christine Seward, Walter Seward, Chandler Jecmenek, and Jenna Jecmenek and 12 great grandchildren that she adored.
Memorials in her honor can be made to the Rogers Memorial Scholarship Fund at 1 Eagle Drive, Rogers, Texas 76569.
