Dorothy L. Maynard, age 88 of Temple, died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at her residence. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 17 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Dr. Tom Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Rogers Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Maynard was born July 14, 1924 in Rogers. She was a graduate of Rogers High School. She married Robert B. Maynard on January 10, 1945. He preceded her in death March 2, 2004. She retired from the Bell County Auditors office after 21 years. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Temple and the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. Survivors include two sons, Charles Maynard of Grand Prairie and Dan Maynard of Temple and one daughter, Brenda Bowman and husband, Roy of Houston, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, C. H. Moore and wife, Joyce of Dallas. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund.
