
Earthlean Clark, age 89 of Troy, departed this life on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at her residence. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 6, at First Baptist Church in Troy with Rev. Edward Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Temple Garden of Memories. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mrs. Clark (Granny) was born September 22, 1923 in Fayette County to Abigal and Amanda Ceasar. She married M. C. Clark in 1938. To this union there were five girls and three boys born. She professed her belief in Christ at an early age. She served as a faithful member of Grant Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership of Matthew Wilson, as Grandmother of the Church, a member and teacher of the Mission Society. Earthlean worked as a housekeeper for many years and retired in the early 70's. She was a longtime resident of Troy where she made a host of friends. She was LOVED by all. She was a devoted Christian, daughter, wife, mom, grandmother, aunt and granny. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, John and James Clark and a brother and sister. Survivors include five daughters, Erma Darden and husband, Elroy, Levern Parker all of Temple, Mary Jackson and husband, Eddie, Gloria Perdue all of Austin and Shirley Clark of Troy, one son, Roosevelt Clark and wife, Dean of Fort Worth, a cherished son, Danny Anderson. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, a devoted sister-in-law, Viola Pennywell of Austin and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
