

Funeral services for Edith Ella (Hohle) Winkler, 87, of The Grove will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday December 14, 2009 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. John Heckman officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. Mrs. Winkler died Thursday at her residence. Mrs. Winkler was born October 21, 1922 at The Grove to Charles Bernhard Hohle and Martha Symm Hohle. She was baptized October 25, 1922 at St. Paul Lutheran Church by Rev. F.W. Berman. She reaffirmed that Christian faith at her Confirmation at St. Paul Lutheran Church on March 21, 1937 with Pastor William Remmert. She married Edmund Winkler January 6, 1946 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor M.J. Scaer officiating. She was a homemaker, and had worked for Moody Frozen Foods and Winkler Pecan Farm. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Lutheran Women's Missionary League and The CLASSICS. Mrs. Winkler was preceded in death by her parents C.B. and Martha Hohle husband Edmund Winkler January, 1994 and one son Doyle Winkler and one brother Charlie Hohle. Survivors include one son Elmer Winkler of The Grove; one daughter Mary Alsup of Temple; one daughter-in-law Janell Winkler of The Grove; two brothers Gilbert Hohle of The Grove and Rev. Dr. Elmer Hohle of Liberty Hill; one sister Lydia Winkler of The Grove; six grandchildren Kelli Alsup, Lance and Kim Alsup, Bryce Alsup, Melissa and Kevin Houchin, Adam Winkler and Nickolas Winkler; four great grandchildren Katy Houchin, Karly Houchin, Madilyn Alsup and Kyndall Houchin; and by numerous nieces and nephews and friends. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Sunday at Scanio Harper Funeral Home.
