Edward Kenneth Hastings

Edward Kenneth "Daddy Ken" Hastings 74 of Temple died Tuesday May 6, 2008 at a local nursing center. Services for Mr. Hastings will be at 1:00 PM Thursday May 8, 2008 at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Scott Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Mr. Hastings was born in Temple, Texas the son of Clarence and Sophenia Baker Hastings. Mr. Hastings was a life long Temple resident. He spent all of his life in sales having owned 4 service stations in Temple as well as several car lots. He had also spent many years in the family business Hastings Radio. He was a licensed pilot and a longtime member of the Western Hills Church of Christ. Mr. Hastings is survived by his wife of 56 years Jo Faye Hastings of Temple, a son, Steve & Joan Hastings of Arlington and a daughter, Cindy & Dave Davis of Temple. He is also survived by two brothers, Clarence Hastings Jr. of Belton, Guy Baker Hastings of Kingsland and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Glenn Hastings, Sr. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 1311 North New Road, Waco, Texas 76710. A visitation will be held from 6 to 7 PM Wednesday May 7, 2008 at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
