

Mass of Christian Burial for Edward D. Matous, 84, of Temple, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday March 10, 2014 at St. Luke Catholic Church with Father James Ekeocha officiating. Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park. Mr. Matous died Thursday in a Cedar Park Living Center. Mr. Matous was born in Seaton to William Matous and Henrietta Cabla Matous. He lived in the Temple area all of his life. He married Beatrice Cleo Green May 24, 1952. She preceded him in death September 22, 2012. He worked for American Desk Manufacturing for forty seven years. He was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and SPJST Lodge #47, The Golden Age Club and he served in the National Guard. Survivors include two sons Gaylon Matous and his wife Monica of Cedar Park and their child Trey; Brad Matous and his wife Karen of Parker, Colorado and their children Morgan, Mason and Mackezie; two daughters Cynthia Barnes and her husband Glenn of Arlington and their children Allison Conyngham and her child Harper and Taylor Barnes; Cheryl Meyer and her husband Mark of Temple and their children Ashton and Jake; and by one sister Norma Alford of Temple. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Sunday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rosary being recited at 7:00 P.M.
