Evelyn Gordon, 92, of Temple died Tuesday in a Temple Living Center. Burial will be at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery at a later date. Mrs. Gordon was born in Freedom, Pennsylvania August 22, 1921 to Homer Starn and Ida Williner Starn. She married Jack Gordon September 13, 1944 in Los Angeles, California. He preceded her in death in March, 2001. She served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. She lived in South Bend, Indiana most of her life before moving to Texas. Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Survivors include her daughter Penny Hough and son-in-law John Hough of Temple; her granddaughter Jennie Archie and her husband Daryl of Indian Head, Maryland; two great grandsons Seth Archie and Kane Archie both of Indian Head, Maryland.
