
Frank Freytag, 76, of Temple, died Monday, December 19, 2005. Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. Luke Catholic Church in Temple. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mr. Freytag was born in Kirtley, Texas to Thomas and Mary Freytag. Upon graduation from Smithville High School, he worked for Western Auto and on the railroad in Smithville. He married Laura Kuehn Freytag on October 4, 1948, in Plum. He moved to Austin during the 1950's, where he worked as a milkman for Superior Dairies and Ralston Purina Co. as a salesman. He bought Rusty Robinson Purina Chow dealership in Temple in 1960. He co-owned and managed Freytag Feed and Seed until 1976. Other business ventures included Friday's Sandwich Shop, the Little River Switch Steak House and a lawn irrigation business in 1976. He retired in 2001 to work on the farm. He was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church and attended Temple Veteran's Chapel. He was a member of the Third and Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife, three sons, Richard Freytag and Gary Freytag, both of Temple, and Frank David Freytag of Santa Ana, California; three daughters, Deborah Freytag Green of Morgan's Point, Cynthia Freytag Mizell of Belton, and Terri Freytag Crawford of Price, Utah; 11 grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home from 4:30-6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity on one's choice in Frank Freytag's name.
