Gary served in the US Army and was a proud veteran. He also worked as a Police Officer in Denver in the early 80's and loved serving his community in that capacity. He loved his family deeply and was so proud of their accomplishments. For the past 20+ years of his life, he'd given up the craziness of the city life and made his move first to Buchanan Dam TX and eventually made his way to Llano TX. He made many friends during that time and learned some new trades while there, learning to work with plumbing and different carpenters in the area. What he loved most about that work was the fact that he was outside and not confined to an office and desk as that wasn't what really suited him. He loved living around the lakes in the areas and would enjoy during the summer going to swim and enjoy what the area's nature had to offer.
He had a very light and funny side to him but also a very serious side when it called for it. Music and reading where two of his favorite things and he had a diverse collection of records and books and a wealth of knowledge from his reading.
