
Funeral services for Jack C. Williams, 79, of Temple will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday at Western Hills Church of Christ with Scott Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park. Mr. Williams died Monday in a Temple hospital. Mr. Williams was born in Paris, Texas to Dempsey Wayne Williams and Louise Chapman Williams. He graduated from Blossom High School in Blossom, Texas and graduated from Texas A & M in 1950 with a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy. He served in the U.S. Army. He married Nita Spear August 27, 1950. He lived in Quanah, Stamford, Lubbock, and Pampa before moving to Temple thirty years ago. He was a Soil Scientists with Soil Conservation Service and retired from the State office in Temple. He was a member of the Audubon Society, Genealogical Society, and a member of National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was a member of Western Hills Church of Christ where he served as an Elder for 18 years. He also served as an Elder in the Church of Christ in Pampa for 8 years. Survivors include his wife Nita Williams of Temple; one son Wayne Spear Williams and his wife Cathy of Plano; one daughter Karen Williams Tarpley and her husband Wesley of Houston; five grandchildren Lauren Baker, Alexandra Dalton, Esther Weimer, Waverly Williams and Merriweather Williams; and two great grandchildren Gabriel Weimer and Baley Baker. Visitation will be from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Thursday at Scanio Harper Funeral Home.
