Jacob Bradley Martin, age 40, passed into the arms of God Sunday, January 4, 2015 as a result of complications from pneumonia. Jacob was kind, considerate and helpful to all, especially his family, and he had a special place in his heart for the needy. He was an avid reader of philosophy and loved the outdoors. Born October 12, 1974, Temple, Texas, Jacob was quickly recognized as a naturally talented artist. He pursued his passion for the visual arts throughout his life, continuously growing through formal education, personal projects, and entrepreneurial endeavors. Growing up in Austin, TX, Jacob made many close friendships and preferred to spend his free time hanging out with friends, drawing, riding his bike, and swimming at Lake Belton with his sister, Leslie, and their cousins, Jon, Jennifer, and Kaci. He cherished time spent with his grandparents, parents, sisters and brother. Most recently, Jacob was studying photography at the Harrisburg Area Community College in Pennsylvania. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Noma Shankle Weaver and John Edgar Weaver, Jr., and Wanda Joy Martin and Frank Green Martin, Jr. Jacob is survived by his mother, Sandy Weaver Schwing and step-father, Paul Edward Schwing; father, Danny Ray Martin and step-mother, Michelle Gualtieri-Martin; his siblings, Leslie Helen Martin, Hanna Christine Schwing, Kyle Raymond Martin, and Alyssa Danielle Martin, as well as God parents, Steve and Brenda Cook; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and dear friends in Temple, Dallas, Austin, and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. All will miss him dearly. Services will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple, TX.
