Jeffrey Wayne Lemon, age 50, departed to be with the Lord he loved on Friday, October 9, 2015. He is survived by his wife Veronica Anne Lemon; sons James Isaac Lemon and John Thomas "J.T." Lemon; step-daughter Jessica Nipp and husband Nathan, of Temple, Texas; step-son Hayden Coburn and wife Ashley of Temple, Texas; grandchildren Abigail and William Nipp and Hunter and Joseph Coburn; mother Judy Lemon of Austin, Texas; a sister Jan Callaway and husband Dan, of Round Rock, Texas; nephew Zachary Callaway; niece Emma Callaway; in-laws and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John Lemon. Jeff was born to John and Judy Lemon on August 10, 1965 in Irving, Texas. The family moved to Austin, Texas, shortly afterward. In his earlier years, Jeff was active in the Boy Scouts, marching band and Bible drill competitions through his church at Allandale Baptist Church, which gave root to his love of scripture memorization. He attended Pflugerville High School and graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Accounting in 1995. Jeff began working at HEB in high school as a bagger and continued rising through the ranks all the way to store director. He worked as an auditor for Whole Foods and most recently as an auditor for McLane Company. He loved his work, his colleagues and the opportunities he had to travel for the company. Jeff was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Temple. Jeff was the story-teller at any gathering and, with Vicki, loved hosting their annual open house, which has grown in size every year, due in no small part to the free mug give-away. Jeff had a great appreciation for the well-written novel and through his CaringBridge site, inspired many with his own writing. Jeff had an amazing capacity for memorization and delighted in committing God's Word to heart. He has inspired many others to this discipline over the years. Jeff was a gifted teacher and enjoyed teaching Sunday School at both Great Hills Baptist Church and Immanuel Baptist Church. He also enjoyed singing in the church choir. Jeff dearly loved his family, his work, his church and more than all, his Lord Jesus Christ. During his four year battle with cancer, he modeled great grace, strength and faith and continued to praise God through it all. It is with joy that we now picture him in the presence of his Savior with a perfect body. Memorial contributions can be made to the Immanuel Baptist Church building fund.
