Jessie Ong, age 95, of Temple died Sunday, January 2, 2011 in a local nursing center. A family visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 PM Thursday, January 6, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Services and burial will be in New Jersey. Mrs. Ong was born on January 1, 1916 in Andover, Mass. to Frank and Emma Carse. She was a former longtime resident of Morristown, New Jersey. She married Floyd Clifton Ong in June, 1936. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1971. She served over 50 years on altar guilds of the Episcopal Church. She had been a resident of Temple for the past six years. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a daughter. Survivors include one son, Floyd C. Ong, Jr. of Temple, three grandchildren, Floyd Ong III of Temple, Susanne Ong of Apopka, Florida, Andrew Ong of Albany, Vermont and one great-granddaughter, Sara. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Foundation.
