Memorial services for Jimmie L. Haddon, age 80, of Salado will be held a 2:00 PM Friday, October 8, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Dr. Don Lynn officiating. Burial will be in Blanket, Texas at a later date. He died Monday, October 4, 2010 in a local nursing center. Mr. Haddon was born July 15, 1930 in Lafayette, Louisiana to Jim and Letha Haddon. He had many accomplishments in life, but travel and building were his passion. He loved life and his family. He always had a smile and a twinkle in his eye. He was preceded in death by his parents, his life companion and wife, Pearl and two sons, Jerry and David. Survivors include two sons, Jim Haddon of Houston, Gary Haddon and wife, Dianna of Tucson, Arizona, one daughter, Cindy Burke and husband, David of Temple, three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. Also surviving is one sister, Bertie Morgan and husband, Ray of Houston and one brother, Sam Haddon and wife, Betty of Helena, Montana. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Christian Church, 300 N. 5th St., Temple, TX 76501.
