A celebration of the incredible life of Joanna “Moni” Bittenbinder will be held December 27 at 3pm at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home at 3110 Airport Road in Temple, Tx. Everyone Moni touched in her too short 57 years was better for the experience. She was the 5th of six children of William and Lynn Brazelton. While her children, 32 y.o. Emelia Bittenbinder M.D., 30 y.o. David Bittenbinder M.D., and 29 y.o. Clinton Bittenbinder were the center of her life, she had so much to give to everyone she touched. She started life in Waco, Texas where she met her husband of almost 36 years, Tim Bittenbinder M.D., while she was a freshman at Reicher Catholic High School. After attending Baylor University, she moved with Tim to Dallas, Chapel Hill N.C, and finally to Temple in 1989. On arrival to her new home town, she began raising 3 small children and serving her community. She was active for years in the Contemporaries, as well as serving in the Junior League of Temple. She served on the founding board of Holy Trinity Catholic High School. Perhaps her favorite community service were the years she volunteered in the Bonham Middle School office. She positively impacted the lives of many children during those years, while keeping an eye on her own children, especially when they occasionally visited the discipline office. While once enduring 3 children in Temple High School at the same time, she loved every minute of those pre college years. She is survived by her husband and children as well as her brother William “Chip” Brazelton, her sisters Marilu Sanders, Marta Latham, and Patricia Hersher. In lieu of flowers please consider contributions to the Scott and White Foundation Anesthesiology Residency Education fund or to the American Cancer Society.
