John R. Slye, age 97 of Temple, died Monday, March 23, 2020 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 28, 2020 for family members. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
John Slye was born on December 24, 1922 in Williamsburg, PA to the late William Henry Slye and Amy Roseanna Cook Slye. John was an electrician and served his country during WWII where he was involved during the Battle of the Bulge and capture of Remagen Bridge. He married Doris Vermelle Willis and she preceded him in death on October 27, 2009. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Joann Breeland.
Survivors include his son, Richard Slye; his daughter Susan Christian; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
