Johnny C. Marek Johnny C. Marek, 69 of Temple died Friday March 30, 2007 at his residence. Services for Mr. Marek will be held at 2:00 PM Monday April 2, 2007 at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple with Rev. Tom Popelka and Chaplain Brent Eaton officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. Mr. Marek was born October 2, 1937 in Cyclone, Texas the son of Ed and Tillie Wychopen Marek. He was a graduate of Rosebud High School where he played football. He retired in 1992 after 30 years with First Federal Savings and Loan in Temple as Vice President. He was a charter member of the Evangelical Brethren Church in Temple where he served on the Board of Elders was Sunday School Superintendent, member of the Church Choir and was a Youth Group Sponsor. He is survived by his wife Betty Marek of Temple a son Gary Marek of Fort Worth a brother Ed Marek of Temple and a sister Doris Klinkovsky of Temple four grandsons and four step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Brenda Martin and his parents. A family visitation will be held from 6 until 8 PM Sunday April 1, 2007 at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple.
