
Josephine Lacina Fisher, 87, of Denton formerly of Temple died Tuesday January 10, 2012 in a Corinth Hospital. No services are planned. Mrs. Fisher was born in Orchard, Texas May 29, 1924 to Frank Lacina and Mary Hrtus Lacina. Her father, a farmer, was born in Moravia, Austria-Hungary Empire, now Czech Republic in Frenstat. Her mother, a housewife, was born in Novy Hrozenkov, Moravia, now Czech Republic. She married Thomas Fisher. He preceded her in death Jan. 16, 2008. She had lived in Rosenberg, Houston, Canyon Lake, Georgetown and Temple before moving to Denton. She worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell before retiring. She was a Methodist. Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Paul Hanicek, Joe Hanicek, Frank Lacina, Louis Lacina and sisters Ella Macek and Elizabeth Kahanek, as well as nieces and nephews, Frankie Lacina, Mary Beth Macek Slomovitz, Helen Dorothy Macek,Josephine Kahanek Webb. Survivors include nieces Rosalie Kelly of West Columbia, Katherine Kelly of West Columbia and Donna Macek Pickle of Watts, Oklahoma and nephew Albert Kahanek Jr. of Sachse. Scanio-Harper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
