Judy Johnson

Judy Barnes Johnson born September 24th, 1953, daughter of John Oliver Barnes and Allegra Gibbs Barnes of Temple, Tx, passed away peacefully in her home in Temple, Tx on the morning of December 23, 2015. Judy attended Temple High School 1968 – 1972, and was an avid member of the Polyphonics choir. She graduated from Texas Tech University in 1976., member of the Chi Omega sisterhood. She majored in Home Economics and Mastered in Education. While at Texas Tech, she met the love of her life, Stuart Craig Johnson. They were married June 18th, 1977. Judy was an active air force wife, who traveled the world with her family, as a dedicated mother and philanthropist. Upon Col. Stuart Johnson’s retirement, Judy became and maintained a faithful dedication to the First United Methodist Church of Temple, TX and served in the choir and with the children’s choir. She is survived by her husband, retired Col. Stuart Johnson, two children Stuart and Jamie Johnson, two grandchildren Skylar Cameron Johnson and Shea Connor Johnson, all of Dallas, TX. She is also survived by her two sisters and best friends Carol Barnes McDonald and Kay Barnes Allen. A visitation will take place on Sunday, December 27, 2015 from 5:00PM-7:00PM at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home 3110 Airport Rd. Temple, TX. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 11:00AM at First United Methodist Church 102 N. 2nd St. Temple, TX 76501A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 11:00AM at Elm Grove Cemetery near Mabank, TX.
