Mrs. Lancaster was born in Temple to Thomas Colwell and Lela Graham Colwell. She married Jerry Lancaster December 29, 1979. She graduated from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor and taught Kindergarten in Troy for seventeen years. She was a member of Texas State Teachers Association, and served on the Building Committee at the Troy School. She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God where she taught Sunday School, sang in the Choir and sang on the Praise Team. Survivors include her husband Jerry Lancaster of Oenaville, one son Jerrod Lancaster of Oenaville, one daughter Jenna Lancaster of Oenaville, her parents Thomas and Lela Colwell of Troy, two sisters Nancy Bales of Temple and Theresa Riley of Temple.
