Kay Sebek Knight

Funeral services for Kay L. Sebek Knight, 79, of Temple will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Cross Church on Birdcreek with Pastor Tim Chaplin officiating. Burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery. Mrs. Knight died August 22, 2025, at her residence in Temple. She was born June 20, 1946, in Bell County to Jerry Sebek and Florine (Sladovnik) Sebek.

Kay grew up in the Holland area; she graduated from Holland High School in 1964 where she was on the drill team and played basketball. After high school, she attended Temple Junior College. She married Doyle Ray Knight on December 28, 1968. The couple moved to Temple after they wed. Kay worked her entire 38-year career at the V.A. Hospital in Temple mostly as a ward clerk supervisor. She retired from the V.A. in 2004 when her first grandchild arrived. She was also an Avon representative for over 49 years. Kay was all about her family. Being a wife, mother and Granny was what she loved most. She cherished her kids and spoiled her grandkids with attention and love. She was never too busy to listen and talk. If her family needed her, she was there.

Kay was a Christian and most recently a member of Cross Church on Birdcreek.

Kay was preceded in death by her husband Doyle Ray; a brother, Jerry Donald Sebek; and her parents.

Survivors include one son, Jason Knight, and his wife, Sandy, of Belton; one daughter, Lisa O’Kelly, and her husband, Seth, of Peoria, Arizona; and four grandchildren Megan O’Kelly, Parker O’Kelly, Beau Knight, and Birdie Knight.

The family asked in lieu of flowers that Memorials be made to Cross Church on Birdcreek, 2202 Birdcreek Dr. Temple, Texas 76502 in Kay’s honor.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the church.
