

Kennith graduated from Temple High School in 1955 and went on to attend Temple College. He dedicated 32 years of his career as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, where he also served as the president of the local National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) until his retirement in 2005. He served as a board member for the Little Elm Water Supply Corporation as well as a member of the Troy ISD School Board for nine years. In addition, he was a member of the Karem Shriners of Waco and a lifelong member of the Masonic Grand Lodge of Texas: AF & AM. His commitment to both his work and local community left a lasting impact on those he served.
In addition to his professional life, Kennith proudly served for nine years in the Texas Army National Guard. His dedication to service extended beyond his career and military tenure into every aspect of his life.
Kennith found great joy in spending time with his family, dancing, traveling, and working outside. He had a warm and welcoming nature—he never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kennith always believed that family was the most important thing.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Shirley Sanders of Temple; son Kevin Sanders and daughter-in-law Sara of Temple; daughter Mindi Hunter and son-in-law Brad of North Carolina; grandchildren Kacie Krischke and husband Luke; Colin Sanders and wife Delanie; Hayden Hunter and Raegan Hunter; great-grandchildren Ella and Lane Krischke, Brynn Sanders; and several nieces and nephews.
He was a member of Temple Bible Church for over 25 years and would enjoy attending the Men’s Bible Study alongside his son on Thursday mornings.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Lois Barton; brothers Robert Sanders, Quinton Sanders, and Arnold Sanders; and son Colin Bryn Sanders.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home, located at 3110 Airport Rd., Temple, Texas. A funeral service will follow on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the same location.
Kennith’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
