Larry Robards

Larry Robards, age 54 of Temple, died Sunday, June 17, 2012 in a local hospital. Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Kelly Johnson officiating. Mr. Robards was born on March 22, 1958 in Lubbock, Texas to Charles Robards and Joyce Lacy Robards. He attended schools in Illinois and graduated from Homer High School in Homer, Illinois. He married Jill Johnson on June 11, 1988 in Lubbock. Larry was a gymnastics instructor for 35 years and was an instructor at Gabrielle's Dynamics Plus in Temple the last 16 years. He loved to golf and skydive and most of all he loved his family dearly. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Charles Robards. Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Jill Robards of Temple; a son, Calvin Robards of Temple; his mother, Joyce Plaster of Illinois; three brothers, Denny Robards and Rick Robards of Illinois and Mike Plaster of Cedar Park, Texas; three sisters, Peg Robards, Pat Robards and Tanya Robards, all of Illinois. Memorials may be given in Mr. Robards' name to the Lupus Foundation of America, 2000 L Street, N.W., Suite 410 Washington, DC 20036.
