

Leta Joy Green, age 77 of Huntsville, formerly of Temple, died Monday, October 8, 2018 at a Huntsville hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Scott Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at Moffat Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5-8:00pm Friday, October 12, 2018 at the funeral home.
Leta Joy Green was born on July 27, 1941 in Burnet, Texas to the late James Tarver and Selma Cleon (Cleo) Walden Tarver. She attended schools in Burnet, Texas and graduated from Burnet High School in 1959. She attended Tarleton State University, and on August 20, 1960, she married Fred Allan Green in Burnet, Texas. Mr. Green preceded her in death on November 12, 2007. After living in Burnet, Leta lived in Mineral Wells, Fort Worth, then Temple, where she worked as an administrative assistant at Temple Junior College until her retirement there. She was a long-time member of Western Hills Church of Christ. Leta was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Elizabeth Ann Tarver Breeding, and two brothers, Wendell Lee Tarver and James Walden Tarver.
Survivors include two sons, Glenn Green, and spouse Laura of Huntsville and Bryan Green, and spouse Robert Cornelius of Cedar Hill; and one grandchild, LeeAnn Michelle Green of Sugarland.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Leta’s name to Western Hills Church of Christ, 210 N. General Bruce Drive, Temple, TX 76504 or to the Ronald McDonald House, 2415 S. 47th Street, Temple, TX 76504.
