Victor Pasetti of Troy, Texas died on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at his home. The youngest of three children, born to Victor and Dolores Vidal Pasetti on January 10, 1923, he grew up in Tampa, Florida. After joining the Army Air Corps as an 18 year-old in 1941, he quickly rose through the ranks. Victor served his country for 31 years and ultimately retired as a Lt. Colonel in the Air Force. Victor was a navigator in World War II, an aerial photo mapper and a manpower administrator at various bases around the world. In 1973, Victor and Texas Curry married and were soul mates for the next 39 years. A second career with Boeing Services International brought the globetrotting couple to assignments in Arizona, Turkey and Spain. A weekend didn't go by that didn't find these two traveling, seeking adventure and developing more stories to tell. Returning to the United States in 1986, they settled in Troy at an idyllic setting in the country. It was a great place to enjoy a slower lifestyle and to make plenty of memories with their many grandchildren. All said, it "was a great run." Victor is survived by his loving wife, Texas, daughters Francine Pasetti (Emilio Toro) of Tampa, Florida, Janine Belveal (Don) of Cotopaxi, Colorado, step-daughters Vicki Barrett (Tom) of Richardson, Texas, Becky Gabhart of Amarillo, Texas, seven grandchildren (Travis, Austin, Tyler, Megan, Meredith, Andrea, Spencer), two great-grandchildren and sister Lucy Diaz of Tampa, Florida. He is predeceased by step-son Ron Curry (Linda) of Denton, Texas and Onelia Hernandez of Tampa, Florida. Victor will be remembered by his loved ones at a celebration of his life on Saturday, October 6th from 2 PM - 4 PM at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
